Things to do in Ucluelet/Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park – Long Beach unit and Broken Island unit

District of Ucluelet: www.ucluelet.ca

Wild Pacific Trail – 10 kilometres of hiking on moderate trails that overlook the rugged and spectacular coastline of Ucluelet. Amphitrite Lighthouse is located along the hike. This trail has been built over the years by local volunteers. The plan is to eventually link the trail to the Pacific Rim National Park. Wild Pacific Trail

Pacific Rim National Park – is comprised of three distinct units. The 1st unit, Long Beach stretches from Ucluelet to Tofino. There are many beaches making up Long Beach. Enjoy Wickinninnish Beach, Combers Beach, Half Moon Bay, Florencia Bay and of course, the most famous – Long Beach. The 2nd unit, the Broken Islands Group is accessible by boat from Ucluelet. Many tours depart from Ucluelet daily by zodiac or covered boat/yacht. See the whale watching links below to contact companies that will offer you an enjoyable trip! The 3rd unit, the West Coast Trail is not easily accessible from Ucluelet. Permission must be granted to hike in this area. Pacific Rim National Park

Ucluelet Aquarium – Visit the Ucluelet Aquarium – interactive, touchable aquarium. All sea creatures are kept a few weeks and then returned, intact and alive to the ocean.

Kennedy Lake Provincial Park – Thought we were all about the ocean and the rainforest? Visit Kennedy Lake, just 15-20 minute drive. You’ll pass the lake on the way into town. Scores of Ucluelet children learned to swim at this lake prior to the opening of the West Coast Motel swimming pool. Kennedy Lake Provincial Park
